Memberships

Do I need a membership for this indoor season?


Yes, all people who want to play pickleball will be required to purchase a membership. A copy of the membership registration form is available here on our website.




How much is a membership?


Memberships are $30 for one year.




Can I pay a drop-in fee?


No, all members will be required to purchase a punch card good for 13 sessions for $40.




How do I pay for a membership and punch card?


Memberships can be purchased in-person at a pickleball session via cash or cheque (made payable to Pickleball Fernie) or via e-transfer to pickleballfernie@gmail.com





Court Booking

Can I drop-in to a pickleball session?


No, all members are required to have a pre-booked court prior to arriving at a pickleball session.




How do I book a court?


To book a court, you need to create an account with CourtReserve. Click here to create or access your account. Click here to access the CourtReserve booking instructions.




Does every person need to book a court?


No, only one person for each group of 4 is required to book a court, however, everyone who will be playing needs to be registered with court reserve and listed on the court booking. Click here to access the CourtReserve booking instructions.




When can I book a court?


Courts can be booked 7 days in advance.




How many courts can I book at a time?


You are only allowed to book one court per day.




How many people need to be on a court booking?


Every player who will be playing needs to be on your court booking.




What is the court booking cancellation policy?


Courts bookings can be cancelled up to 3 hours prior to your booking. If you are unable to cancel or no-show to a court booking, you will be charged one session on your punch card.




After I book a court, can I modify the court booking?


Yes, after a court is booked you can modify your booking (e.g. change the court, add or remove players) any time up to 3 hours prior to your booking. Click here to access the CourtReserve instructions for modifying or cancelling a court booking.




How long is each court booking?


Each court booking is for 1 hour and 15 minutes.




Will I be notified by CourtReserve about my bookings?


Yes, CourtReserve will send out emails to all members on a booking when bookings are created, modified, or cancelled. CourtReserve will also remind you that you have a booking 24 hours prior to your booking.

Playing the Game

What time should I arrive at my court booking?


Please arrive no earlier than 10 minutes prior to your court booking.




When I arrive at the community center, what do I do?


When you arrive, please enter through the main doors of the community center, use the hand sanitizer, and remove your outdoor footwear and jacket and take these items to the stage. When your session is over you will exit the door to the left of the stage.




Do I need to wear a mask?


Masks are required when entering or leaving the community center, and at all times when not on court. Mask use during play is at your own discretion.




Who sets up the pickleball nets?


Each court group is responsible for setting up their own net. Nets are kept in the blue box on the stage; the combo is “SPORT”.




Who takes down the pickleball nets?


Each court group will be responsible for taking down and cleaning nets if there is no group coming to play after them. Nets go back into the blue box on the stage.




Do we bring our own ball to play with?


Members will all be given a new pickleball with their name on it. You will be required to use your own ball when you serve. Balls will need to be sanitized before you plan and during play, as necessary.




What do I do when my session is over?


Take down and clean the pickleball net if another group is not coming. Nets go into the blue box on the stage. Grab your personal belongings and exit via the door to the left of the stage.




Do I need to bring water?


Yes, please bring water with you. You will not be allowed to fill-up water bottles at the community center.




What is the combination for the blue box with the nets?


The combo is “SPORT”




Can my friends or family come watch?


No, at this time we are not allowed to have spectators during pickleball play.





COVID-19

What are the COVID-19 Protocols?


You will be required to clean your hands, social distance, wear masks when entering or leaving the community center, and at all times when not on court. Mask use during play is at your own discretion.

Will hand sanitizer and antibacterial wipes be available?


Yes, hand sanitizer will be available when you enter the community center and wipes will be available at each court for cleaning balls and nets. Members are encouraged to bring their own sanitizing products at their discretion.
